Hi dear Laura,

Maybe Sally is an Irish doll because she will be born in Ireland (she doesn't have to wear green, and she DEFINITELY doesn't have to wear shamrocks.

We went to farmer's market and got some nice wool batting from local sheep, and then our littles had a scoop of banana icecream. And then we found a waldorf doll booth and bought a 5 inch dolly to be Emily's dolly and also to use as a model for one kind of doll we might try as we have adventures in doll-making.

We hope you enjoyed being outdoors at your friend's farm and got to be with animals. We love animals. I had a horse for 15 years, and for several years I was a volunteer zookeeper aide, helping to take care of ungulates and carnivores. The giraffe used to lick my hair while I was cleaning his stall.
We used to have 5 dogs and a horse, but now we just have a cat. I really want a dog, but my husband Ray doesn't want to get a dog until after I recover from foot and ankle surgery. Last year after I had surgery, I was incredibly dependent on him for a month. He took a month off work to take care of me, and he will do that again. He was so patient and good. I would not have been able to be so patient.
Do you have any pets?

Gotta go take a nap. I was up early and didn't go back to sleep because I wanted to get to farmers market for the wool.
I keep falling asleep sitting here, which isn't good for typing.

bye for now,
—Carole
