Dearest Carole
Wow this is surely a huge compliment. Thank you so much for your wonderful words about my work.  It really means a lot to me to have such feedback and someone who really understands how my process works. For me making these dolls is not in the least way about making money, it is about being able to reach out and spread a wee bit of my love through the world. I love the idea of my dolls being cuddled and played with, being whispered secrets too and taken on adventures. I try to make my dolls with this is mind, the play-ability factor, and you really see this and understand this, thank you for that.
Sometimes I make a doll and have no idea about now she should be dressed until she is ready to be clothed (hair and eyes finished), sometimes it is easier to see then what they should be wearing. Sometimes it is because the personality of the doll might not suit what I originally had in mind for them (they may not like a certain colour or might need to wear dungarees instead of a dress...for climbing trees perhaps?)

Maybe this is what needs to happen for Sally? We have an idea, but maybe we should let her 'dress herself'? I do have a fabric in mind that I picked up yesterday. I think it would be a plaid, it is a really soft red with a green through it. I think cotton flannelette (?!?!) not 100% sure it would be an upcycled dress. But it is very sweet and would be so so soft and cuddly. I can imagine it with the linen pinny and the green cardi? I will take a picture of it for you later and you can see what you think?

Anyway, we still have time to bat around a few ideas :-)

We had a wonderful time at the farm yesterday, Benny (my 3 year old) cried all the way home and into bed because he didn't want to leave. Our kind friends are giving us a drill in one of their fields to plant veg...
oh crying baby will get back to you later x x x x x
